Dairy Producer's Environmental Management Checklist

Dairy Pipeline: August 2001

The Virginia dairy industry is introducing a two page voluntary self-assessment that will be delivered to Virginia dairy farms by their milk coop/plant field reps. This checklist should help dairy producers identify areas in which the farm's environmental management practices should be strengthened. The checklist is voluntary and is only to be used by the producer, unless the producer wants to share it with others that might provide assistance. For further information, producers are referred to their dairy extension agent or appropriate resource people who could provide technical (or even name financial) assistance.
