Summer FDMA Direct Marketing Tour
Tuesday, July 30, 1996
Cities of Virginia Beach and Chesapeake

Farm Management Update, June 1996

Charlie Coale

For the third consecutive year, the Virginia Farmer Direct Marketing Association (FDMA) is sponsoring a summer direct marketing bus tour and program. Extension agent Melvin Atkinson, Virginia Beach, is the tour coordinator and local host. Four direct marketing locations have been carefully chosen to provide examples of merchandising and marketing diversity. The tour will begin and end at the Virginia Beach Farmers Market. The FDMA summer tour complements the annual direct marketing conference to be held February 5-8, 1997 in Dover, Delaware. The Virginia FDMA will again host the winter conference in year 2001. Virginia FDMA members voted to conduct their conference jointly with other Mid-Atlantic states. There is now a five- state conference with greater access to program ideas, speakers, educational personnel, and financial resources.
