42nd Class, Virginia Certified Planning Commissioners Program To Be Offered on Campus This Summer

Farm Business Management Update, April 2002

The Virginia Certified Planning Commissioners Program will be offered next at the Donaldson Brown Hotel and Conference Center on the campus of Virginia Tech. The opening session is set for June 14-15, 2002. The closing session is scheduled to be held August 16-17, 2002.

Nearly 1,700 persons representing more than 200 Virginia local governments have participated in the program. The goal of the program is to provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to the community planning process and the function of land use planning at the local level.

The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, in concert with the Virginia Citizens Planning Association, sponsors the certification program three times a year.

Persons interested in enrolling in the program should contact Mike Chandler at (540) 231-6921 or by e-mail at rmchan@vt.edu. As in the past, three seats will be reserved for Extension staff interested in attending the program. The seats will be offered at no cost to the enrollee. Registration for the program is required. Information about the program can be obtained from Mike Chandler.
