2002 Eastern Stud Ram Sale Results

The 61st Annual Eastern Stud Ram Show and Sale was held June 14-15 at the Augusta Expoland near Staunton. The show was held on Friday with over 350 sheep exhibited. Wilson Stock Farm of Rural Retreat, VA exhibited the Champion Hampshire Ewe. Sponaugle Suffolks from Grottoes, VA exhibited both the Champion Suffolk Ram and Ewe, and ECM Suffolks of Waynesboro, VA consigned the Reserve Champion Suffolk Ram. Champion Ram and Ewe honors in the Horned Dorset show went to Cassell Horned Dorsets of Wytheville, VA. Ashley Club Lambs from Lyndhurst, VA exhibited the Champion Wether Dam. The sales on Saturday featured the National Dorset Sale. A total of 319 sheep sold for an average of $430 per head. Sale results, including price and number sold for each breed were as follows:
