BCIA Southwest Virginia Bull Test Sale March 25th

The 27th annual sale of the Virginia BCIA Southwest Bull Test will be Saturday, March 25 at 12:00 noon. The sale will be held at the Danny Umberger sale facility, just outside Wytheville (same sale location as in past- take exit 77 off I-81, and follow Kenton Run Road located just south of the Exxon station on the access road west of the interstate). The sale will include approximately 130 bulls representing the top two-thirds of the bulls tested. Both fall-born senior and spring-born junior bulls will be offered. Selling will be approximately 85 Angus, 20 Simmental, 15 Charolais, and 10 Gelbvieh. Complete performance information will be available on all bulls.
An open house will be hosted at the Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association's Southwest Virginia Bull Test on Sunday afternoon, March 19th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Cattle producers and others interested are invited to attend. The Southwest Bull Test Station is located at Hillwinds Farm, owned and operated by Tim Sutphin of Dublin, Virginia. The station is located just outside Dublin. From Dublin, travel south on Route 11 just over two miles, and turn right on Thornspring Road/Rt. 643 (Cougar Express convenience store on corner). Proceed on Thornspring Road a little over a mile and the facility is on the left.
