New Extension Specialist Joins the AAEC Department

Mike Hilmer joined the faculty in August 2001. He has a joint extension and research position. His work will focus on tax issues and policies surrounding financing public service issues. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His published research focuses on the economics of higher education. Before joining the faculty, he taught Economics courses at UNC-Greensboro, the University of Louisville, and Brigham Young University. His wife, Tia, has a teaching and research position in the department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. Outside interests include ironman triathlon, mountain climbing, and tennis.
